Cannabis Strains noted for their Sexual Arousal (Aphrodisiac) properties
The foundation for Cannabis and Sexual Ecstasy for Men book are the chapters covering arousal strains of marijuana. When smoked or vaped, these unique flowers open neuro pathways from the brain to the sex organs, and prostate gland, sensitizing and magnifying touch or massage.
Scientists have discovered that the terpene, Limonene is the compound in cannabis responsible for heightened arousal in humans. If you’re unable to find any of my top ten cannabis strains listed below, ask your dispensary bud-tender for a strain with a dominant Limonene profile. Experiment with different strains. If one strain doesn’t deliver enough sensation, consider combining two or more strains of flower that will boost your horniness.
Below please find the top-ten list of my favorite arousal strains. I’ve included a photo of what to look for when you visit the dispensary, the originating flower, as it appears in nature if you want to grow your own, and a plant profile, including average THC content.
An important note on consuming cannabis: Smoking vs. Vaping
It now appears that vaping removes several of the important compounds found in the cannabis flower which contribute to higher levels of sexual arousal. If you must use a vaporizer, try the lower heat settings for the best results, and whenever possible, smoke the flower.
Wedding cake is one of my favorite cannabis strains and is a plant medicine known for creating high levels of arousal. Wedding Cake, also known as “Triangle Mints #23,” is a potent type of indica-hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Triangle Kush with Animal Mints. Fun fact: In Canada, this strain is known as Pink Cookies. The Wedding Cake strain provides relaxing and euphoric effects that calm the body and mind. This strain yields a rich and tangy flavor profile with undertones of earthy pepper. Consumers with a low THC tolerance will enjoy this strain with an extra slice of care due to its high THC content.
Profile: 25% THC
Jack Herer is a wonderful strain, producing sustained arousal and the resulting orgasm with delicate prostate massage. Jack Herer, also known as “JH,” “The Jack,” “Premium Jack,” and “Platinum Jack” is a sativa-dominant marijuana strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both cerebral elevation and heavy resin production. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative.

Another favorite that has recently come on the scene is Strawberry Cough. I took to this plant medicine almost immediately and was impressed enough to try my hand at growing a few plants in my Northern California garden. The results were outstanding, and I found from seed to harvest, Strawberry Cough was easy to grow. Known for its sweet smell of fresh strawberries and an expanding sensation that can make even the most seasoned consumer cough, Strawberry Cough is a potent sativa marijuana strain with mysterious genetic origins. However, Strawberry Cough is thought to be a cross of Haze and Strawberry Fields. The skunky, berry flavors will capture your senses while the cerebral, uplifting effects provide an aura of euphoria that is sure to leave a smile on your face. Strawberry Cough is a great solution in times of elevated stress.

Granddaddy Purple (GDP)
Everyone should have some Granddaddy Purple in their cannabis collection. Noted for an exhilarating high, and arousal buzz, this California native is a classic arousal strain. Granddaddy Purple is an indica marijuana strain that goes by many different names, including “Grand Daddy Purp,” “GDP,” and “Grandaddy Purple Kush.” This California staple inherits a complex grape and berry aroma from its Mendo Purps and Afghanistan parent, while Skunk passes on its oversized, compact bud structure. GDP flowers bloom in shades of deep purple, a contrasting backdrop for its snow-like dusting of white crystal resin. Its potent effects are clearly detectable in both mind and body, delivering a fusion of cerebral euphoria and physical relaxation. While your thoughts may float in a dreamy buzz, your body is more likely to find itself fixed in one spot for the duration of GDP’s effects.

This classic is great for getting you in the mood for sex, and can nurture very powerful full bodied orgasms. Chemdawg, sometimes called “Chemdog,” is a hybrid marijuana strain that has developed quite the name for itself over the years. Between its mysterious origin, ambiguous genetics, and the plethora of successful crosses the strain has produced, Chemdog has practically secured itself a permanent place in the cannabis hall of fame. The original source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdawg is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this strain from a mile away. Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdawg tends to be very potent. Consumers can expect to have a cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling.

I’ve been a fan of Trainwreck for a few years and relish its smooth high and effects. Mexican and Thai sativas were bred with Afghani indicas to produce this Northern California staple, passing on a sweet lemon and spicy pine aroma. Trainwreck begins its speedy hurtle through the mind with a surge of euphoria, awakening creativity and happiness. Migraines, pain, and arthritis are mowed down by Trainwreck’s high-THC content, and many patients also use it for relief of anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and PTSD. Trainwreck flowers tend to finish early when growing outdoors, while indoor gardens are ready for harvest after 8 weeks.

I was introduced to this amazing flower in 2018, and later, it inspired me to write the book based on my experience. From Newbie to Seasoned consumer, Sour Diesel should be in your inventory for easy access. Sour Diesel, also known as “Sour D” and “Sour Deez,” is a popular sativa marijuana strain made by crossing Chemdawg and Super Skunk. Sour Diesel effects are dreamy, cerebral, fast-acting and energizing. This strain features a pungent flavor profile that smells like diesel. Medical marijuana patients choose Sour Diesel to help relieve symptoms associated with depression, pain, and stress. Growers say this strain grows best in a dry, outdoor climate and has a flowering time of 77 days. Fun fact: Sour Diesel first became popular in the early 1990s and has been legendary ever since.
Another powerful arousal cannabis is Bubblegum Kush. This dominant indica hybrid strain is created through crossing the classic Bubblegum with another unknown Kush strain. Even with the lack of information about its heritage due to a high level of breeder secrecy, Bubblegum Kush is a patient favorite for its insanely delicious flavor and long-lasting effects. Bubblegum Kush has a super sweet and sour fruity bubblegum flavor with a rich spicy pine exhale. The aroma is of fresh earth and sweet spices, accented by a fresh fruity bubblegum smell that’s released as the nugs are broken apart. The Bubblegum Kush high has a creeping onset, sneaking up on you before suddenly taking hold several minutes after your first toke. You’ll feel a lifted effect slowly build in the back of your mind, filling you with a sense of unfocused happiness.

A perennial favorite, Green Crack is a sativa-dominant hybrid that was bred by inbreeding Skunk #1. Green Crack is usually sativa-dominant, but there’s also a less popular indica-heavy version of the strain. Green Crack got its name from Snoop Dogg, though it’s also known as Green Cush or simply Cush among smokers who prefer not to reference cocaine. The high is decidedly cerebral, with a big mood boost and a jolt of energy. Green Crack has a sweet flavor with tropical and citrus notes. It’s most common in the Pacific Northwester, California, Arizona, and Colorado. But it can be found almost anywhere else with relative ease.

Also known as “Sex J-13,” this horny weed is great for newbies and those less experienced with marijuana. It is a cross between Jack Herer and strain G-13 and was bred to produce a flavor unlike anything you may have tasted before. It has a pleasurable taste which is spicy and sweet at the same time. However, you will note hints of lime and pine while smoking the strain. The cerebral effects are well endowing as you will feel a body buzz unlike any other. It is perfect for individuals who are suffering from anxiety and depression. However, there is much more to it than its countless medical applications. XJ-13 is also known for keeping your creative juices flowing. You will find it easy to converse with others and will make it even more fun for you to hang out with others.
